Call for Nominations to the American Institute of Biological Sciences Board of Directors

Concerned about the future of biological science in the United States? The American Institute of Biological Sciences (AIBS) is seeking nominations for its Board of Directors. AIBS plays a vital role in advancing the biological sciences through peer review of research, publishing BioScience, policy advocacy, and professional development. It is committed to fostering a broad, even-handed, and inclusive scientific community. 

The AIBS Leadership Development Committee is now accepting nominations for Member Society/Organization-Elected positions beginning in 2026. Ideal candidates will bring scientific expertise with a focus on complex organizations, publishing, fundraising, communications, and board leadership. 

Each member organization including OBFS may nominate up to two people. If you are interested in being nominated by OBFS to serve on the AIBS Board of Directors, please complete the following form by August 15, 2025. OBFS Board-approved nominations will be forwarded to AIBS by September 5, 2025. 

In addition, we are looking for three people to review nomination applications. If you are interested in this role, please complete the second section of this form.
