Interested in a hands-on, immersive biology experience? Registration for field biology courses at Itasca Biological Station and Laboratories is now open!
Taking a field biology course at Itasca is truly unique. You will have the opportunity to explore and learn about mammals, fungi, birds, insects, microbes and animal behavior in the heart of iconic Itasca State Park at the Headwaters of the Mississippi River. Spots are limited, so consider registering early!
May/June 2024 field biology courses include:
- Field Microbiology (PMB 3802/5802) | May 12th – May 31st | 3 credits
- Field Mycology (PMB 3812/5812) | May 12th – May 31st | 3 credits
- Field Studies in Mammalogy (EEB 4839) | May 12th – June 14th | 4 credits
- Animal Behavior in the Field (EEB 3811W) | May 12th – June 14th | 4 credits
- Field Ornithology (EEB 4844) | May 12th – May 31st | 3 credits
- Special topics at Itasca – Field Entomology (BIOL 3800) | May 12th – May 31st | 3 credits
Students can apply for scholarships to cover costs of room and board.
