The talk about risk management for outdoor programs (Safety II) by Steve Smith was really helpful for how to evaluate close calls in the field that ended well because of luck versus preparation. Definitely helpful for building a culture of safety and open conversations at our station. Time well spent!
The facilities tour was really exceptional. I also appreciate how much time is allotted to questions and time for individual interactions. I thought that the lunch time table discussion topics could have used a little more visibility and promotion. Been to two OBFS meetings at La Selva and they have both been extraordinary.
