While students get to experience a sense of freedom and independence living at field stations compared to campus, this can also lead to relaxed conduct standards (e.g., cell phone use, keeping spaces clean) when living and learning spaces overlap. What student management strategies or policies do you employ at your residential stations to address this?

Reactivating this thread from last May.

At FHL our undergraduate program is growing rapidly - which is great - and also means we now need to outline a philosophy and a plan to help prepare students for the academic and personal challenges (without making a mountain out of a molehill), and to help staff and faculty intervene early, hold students accountable, and help students get back on track (or, if necessary, help them leave the field-station campus).

Do you have any resources you can share? Have you implemented any restorative justice approaches? How does your system interface with your main campus? We'd love to learn from your successes (or failures, if you have things you'd advise against). Thank you!
