Oregon Institute of Marine Biology

The University of Oregon’s marine lab, the Oregon Institute of Marine Biology (OIMB) has convenient access to some of the most spectacular places anywhere to study marine organisms and ecosystems. OIMB supports both undergraduate and graduate studies including a marine biology major, masters and PhD programs. OIMB faculty, visiting scientists and community partners conduct world-renowned research on the Oregon Coast in marine and estuarine habitats just outside OIMB’s doors. Across the street, the UO’s aquarium and museum, the Charleston Marine Life Center, serves as our outreach hub, engaging our local K-12 schools and visitors of all ages.
